Performances Indonesian

Janger is a traditional ethnic song from the island of Bali. It is often performed together with a dance that, according to myths and legends, has its origins in the trance ceremony.

Bunga Sayang (1994) is a Peranakan-style song written by Singaporean composer Dick Lee. This song traces its roots to the unique Malay tradition that characterizes the cultures of three neighboring countries in Southeast Asia: Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.




Balinese Dance

Hinduism is an integral part of Balinese culture, with 93% of the island's population adhering to the religion. Balinese Dances portray stories from Hindu epics, such as Ramayana but with heavy Balinese influence. In Indonesian Culture Night 2009, two dancers from the performing arts troop "Gamelan Gita Asmara" will deliver a rousing heartbeat of traditional Balinese dance.




Cultural Fashion Show

Geographically, Indonesia is divided into 33 provinces, each with its own distinct culture and tradition. The professionally choreographed cultural fashion show will feature traditional outfits from the five major islands, as well as contemporary styles of batik.




Gamelan Ensemble

A Gamelan is a musical ensemble from the islands of Bali or Java. It is made up of various instruments, including metallophones, xylophones, drums and gongs. In Indonesia, gamelan usually accompanies dance, wayang puppet performances, rituals or ceremonies.




Interactive Angklung Performance

Angklung is an Indonesian musical instrument with Sundanese origins. The instrument is made of two bamboo tubes attached to a bamboo frame, and is played by shaking it rapidly from side to side. In this interactive angklung performance, guests will have the opportunity to participate and learn how to play angklung together with the performers.


Nusantara Dances


As the largest archipelagic state in the world, Indonesia is home to more than 300 different ethnicities and more than 700 different languages and dialects. Nusantara Dances will showcase dances from five regions across the country.
